Trust God’s recipe will be better than lemonade because sometimes lemonade just isn’t good enough.

I know that “time and chance happens to all.” Yet when the heavens rain lemons, not because you did something wrong, but instead as a result of someone else’s folly, it can be well…tearfully sour. I don’t know about you, but I can only take so many pungent yellows. Especially today, I need more than lemonade!

I need lemon meringue pieslow roasted lemon dill chickenpistachio crusted salmon with lemon cream sauceartichoke and lemon pastablueberry lemon trifle. I want my adverse circumstance to yield more than a mediocre pass. For the tears shed, the suffering and the pain, for the sorrow caused, I need to know today that somehow, somewhere, someway it will be worth it in the end.

I always admired the way the cooks in my family could put together a meal. My eldest brother has a way of combining ingredients to make the best fish. My sister is now the queen of preparing curried goat. My brother closest to me in age, has a way of barbecuing chicken that is out of this world, and his wife’s lasagna is unmatched. However, my mom “takes the cake”. Yes, she can make amazing cake from scratch, but what impresses me most about her repertoire of cooking skills, is her ability to make the best tasting alcohol free Sorrel.

Sorrel on its own is tart and sour, but with some TLC and the right combination of spices and sweetener it becomes a holiday delight. Today, I’m choosing to believe that God is making a holiday delight from all of my adverse circumstances. He is combining the good with the bad, the joys with the sorrows, the gladness with the unexpected unfair happenings and somehow at the end will create something far better than I could imagine.

Do you believe God will do the same for you?

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 (NKJV)
