Remember what God has said.

Over the course my recovery more than a few times I have felt overwhelmed. You know, the feeling you get when your mind tells you “it’s too much!” Looking at the medical bills, experiencing a physical set back, or facing the reality that I just can’t do all that I want to do when I want to do it.

In these times, I have to remember what God said. Yes, I believe He actually still communicates. For me, I had the sense that I was headed into a storm – a challenge in the form of a health crisis. I had that awful gut feeling, but I also had God’s promise. He assured me that I would be ok. I hold on to that promise especially in the moments I am tempted to sink into sadness. When I am uncertain about what is happening in my body, and afraid, I remember that God said I would be ok.

Believing God’s promise to me gives me hope. By God’s grace, I revert to a positive outlook on my circumstance, staring a presenting challenge in the face, knowing I will be ok.

I’m not sure what your challenge is today, but I believe God is able to carry you through it.

No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.
